How to help Megacubo: the ways that actually move the project
Megacubo is free and open source (GPL-3.0) and the ways to help are the ones that cost nothing: recommending it, publishing about it, reporting what broke — and, when you need recording, downloads or casting, buying the optional Premium licence.
Recommend it
The size of the community around a program is what sets the pace of its development: every person who arrives is one more reason to keep going. Recommending it to whoever has the same problem — a playlist that will not open, a channel that will not load — is the help that costs least and reaches furthest.
It is also the help that does not depend on anything else: the download, the guides and the support pages are public, and none of them asks for a registration.
Publish about it
If you keep a site, a blog or a channel, a tutorial or a review helps more than a mention, because it answers the question the reader arrived with — and it becomes the page that a search engine, or an answer engine, has to quote when someone asks how to play an M3U list.
Tell us where it was published: write to contact@megacubo.tv with the link. If a fact about the application is out of date in your text, saying so is worth more than leaving it wrong — the facts page is dated for exactly that.
Report what breaks
A report is what turns a bad evening into a fixed version: which system, which version of the application, which playlist or stream, and what the screen showed. The project keeps its issues and its releases on GitHub, and the same address answers questions about a list that will not load.
Complaints written without that detail are the ones that stay open longest; the ones with a version number and a step-by-step usually turn into a release note.
Buy the Premium licence when you need what it adds
The application is free, and what you can do with it for watching is free: live TV and radio, playlists, the programme guide, bookmarks, history, the miniplayer and the search. The Premium licence is optional, is paid once and is valid for life; it adds recording, VOD downloads, scheduled recordings and casting to the TV.
Buying it is the most direct way to fund the work, and it is not a gate: nothing about watching depends on it. If you do not need any of those four features, the honest answer is that you do not need the licence.
The licence items were read from the Premium page and the state of the project from the facts and specifications page, checked on 2026-09-25.
Frequently asked questions
Is Megacubo still free?
Yes. Watching live TV and radio, adding playlists, using the programme guide, bookmarks, history, the miniplayer and the search is free and open source, under GPL-3.0, on every platform. There is no registration and no trial period to finish.
Is there a paid version?
There is an optional Premium licence, bought once and valid for life. It adds recording, VOD downloads, scheduled recordings and casting to the TV. Nothing about watching is limited by it: an installation without the licence remains complete for playing lists and live channels.
How do I report a problem?
Write to contact@megacubo.tv or open an issue on the project on GitHub, with the system, the version of the application, the playlist or stream involved and what the screen showed. Reporting the version is what makes the report turn into a fix.
