Adult content in Megacubo: the filter comes on, and how to switch it off

The application is installed with the adult content filter enabled, and turning it off takes four clicks: Options > Adult content > Allow. Megacubo does not provide or host channels — the filter is what the program applies to the lists you added — and it can be switched back on at any time.

What the filter does and why it is on by default

The filter works on the names in the lists: it hides channels and entries that match the keywords it carries. It is enabled on installation because the lists are third-party and nobody chooses an adult channel by accident while looking for the news.

It is a filter, not a lock: it does not ask for a password and it is not a parental control with a PIN. Whoever uses the computer can turn it off in the settings, which is why the honest description is "on by default" and not "protected".

How to allow adult content

  1. Open Megacubo
  2. Go to Options > Adult content
  3. Click Allow
  4. Click Back twice to return to the main screen
  5. Search or browse the categories: the content is now listed

Nothing else is needed and nothing restarts: the list is redrawn with the entries the filter was hiding.

How to switch the filter back on

  1. Open Options > Adult content
  2. Click Remove
  3. Click Back twice

The filter returns to its default state, hiding the entries it recognises. It is the same path in both directions, which is worth knowing before lending the computer to someone: switching it on again takes less than ten seconds.

Filtering by keyword

The block is a list of words. Options > Security > Adult content shows the terms already configured and accepts new ones separated by commas, so you can block what the default list misses — a channel name in another language, for instance, or a term specific to the lists you use.

Adding terms is the only way to strengthen the filter: the program compares names with the list, and the more precise the words, the fewer false negatives. If something you did not want still appears, that is the place to fix it.

The default state of the filter follows the safety and privacy page and the version the facts and specifications page, checked on 2026-09-25. The landing page of this subject — with the download addresses and the same filter in four clicks — is adult content in Megacubo.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to switch the filter off?

The filter is a list of keywords applied to the names in your playlists, and switching it off only stops hiding those entries. It is not a parental control with a password: anyone who can open the settings can turn it back on in the same three clicks.

Do I need the Premium licence to change the filter?

No. The filter is part of the free application: allowing or blocking that content, and editing the keyword list, does not depend on the Premium licence, which only adds recording, downloads, scheduled recordings and casting.

Why did a channel disappear from the list?

Because its name matched a keyword of the filter. The list of terms is in Options > Security > Adult content; removing the term shows the entry again, and adding a term to the same list hides everything that matches it.
